Let me start by saying, I am not a doctor. I represent doctors. My dad is a doctor and my sister will be a doctor in 3 weeks. However, I am not a doctor.
OK....now, the story: I went to run a quick errand, and Sawyer and JH were having a dance party in the living room. He saw me leave and heard Sawyer start crying, thinking he was sad that I had left. JH told him it was fine and to come back. Then Sawyer, through his tears asked for a piece of ice. So, JH got him a piece of ice, thinking he wanted to eat it. Instead, my two year old put it on his chin (that he had busted). That was when JH saw the busted chin! I mean what 2 year old in the middle of his pain, asks for a piece of ice?!?!
As you can see it was under his neck, and it didn't gush, it just dripped out blood.
Now, back to me not being a doctor. Under the advisement of Granddaddy on skype we super glued the cut and applied steri strips. It might not have been the smoothest wound closure you could imagine. But, it was in a spot that you can't really see. Plus he will thank me when he is 16, b/c girls love scars, right?!?!
By the end of the weekend, it started looking a little better. However, on Saturday night, Sawyer began to run fever and has ever since! :( Poor kid needs a break. Despite it all, he has been a pretty good sport. His chin was definitely sore today and he says his ears hurt. His only request is that we go see the doctor. See, even he knows I am not a doctor!!!!
This is me telling him to show me his scar, maybe he thought I said rice!
We are honestly surprised this is the first gash he has had, and we expect many more!
Y'all did a great job! Glad he's feeling better.
