Lucky

This year, we have a Veteran in our house. JH is not one to dote on himself, but I personally am proud. I am proud of what he endured and what we endured as a family. It brings tears to my eyes to think of all of the MANY women and men and their families who make the same sacrifice every day. We are so lucky to have men and women who are willing to fight for us.  I am also lucky to have my Veteran safe at home when some of my other friends are sending thier husbands oversees.  Give your husband and your children a tighter hug for these soldiers and families who do not have that opportunity.

Ok, enough sap...tonight, Sawyer and I were watching the opening to Monday night football.  He saw the flag, and asked for a flag.  He knows what that is, b/c at school they say the pledge every day.  Each day a different kid gets to hold the flag.  His teacher sent a note home the day he got to hold the flag telling me how he beamed with excitement when he got to hold it.

And, I wish I had a video for this moment. After the opening song for Monday football, the national anthem was sung.  Sawyer (wild, crazy, non-stop Sawyer) stood there holding the flag with his mouth open in awe the entire song! It was precious....After they were done singing, he said "again! again!" He wanted to hear the anthem again. It must just be in his blood!
Here he is saying "yay!" as the anthem ended!
