The packers come in 7 days, so I have been "de-bulking" every inch of this 2800 sq foot home. My mother-in-law said she had never heard that term, but liked it.
de-bulking: getting rid of items that can be considered junk and/or things that you have not used for long time and/or will not use anytime in the foreseeable future. This includes multiple trips to Good Will, many trash bags, and lots of rubbermaid storage containers.
Sawyer has loved helping with this de-bulking process. See Exhibit A...
"Mom, are you really going to watch the Sex in the City movie again?"
De-bulking also entails getting rid of some sentimental things. For example, Jh decided we could give away 3 of the 15 stuffed animals from his childhood. Apparently, the other 12 had a very sentimental value. There are some things we come across that we agree are sentimental and stay in the "keep" pile. See Exhibit B....There was a love letter at the top of this laminated photo of Hunter and me from high school, but I will save you the sap!
To thank Sawyer for his hard work, we treated him to red velvet cake, and he was very appreciative!
I rememebr that poem...
ReplyDeleteRoses are red. Violets are blue. I'm 16 now, but even when I'm 80, I'll love you. ;)
