Change of Command

Hunter has been in command of a company of about 185 soldiers.  He has worked very hard the past 8 months, including many early mornings and late nights; endless after hour phone calls; and lots and lots of meetings and briefings.  His soldiers really love him and appreciate his leadership style.  However, we have decided it is best for our family to transition into the civilian field.  (I plan on doing a re-cap of our life in the Army, but this is just a few photos from the change of command.)

This is Alpha Company.
Sawyer loved getting to see Dad at work!

He didn't sit through the ceremony for 10 seconds, but enjoyed running around the motor pool checking out all of the big trucks.

This is one of Hunter's bosses, Major Russell. He loves Sawyer!

And this photo is priceless.  Sawyer was running around like a crazy man, until he heard and saw the soldiers marching. He stood still and silent watching the men and women march into the ceremony.  I think Sawyer will really enjoy this when he is older....He will be very proud of his father, as I am!

  2. I agree...the last picture is especially incredible, but loved them all! So happy for ya'll and so proud of all that Hunter brought to these men. I know he'll be missed, but God has a plan for him and for the family through this new chapter in life! So excited for you being in H-town!
