FOUR

Today my first baby turns four. I would be lying if I said this didn't make me feel a little sad and a lot old. Not b/c I am old but b/c I feel old! I've learned a lot about this tiny baby and a lot about me in the past 4 years. To sum it up, he is high-energy and I am not! :)

 

I'll share a funny epiphany that Sawyer had in his birthday eve. I was telling him his nightly bedtime story and thought his birth story would be fun. Not the actual birth story, but a preschooler appropriate one.

M: once upon a time, mommy had a baby in her tummy...

S: what was the baby's name?

M: Sawyer

S: wait...you named me that when I was in your tummy?

M: yes baby. We picked out your name! We prayed and hoped you would be just the way you are!

4 things about Sawyer's personality at age 4:

1) he aims to please

2) he craves attention but needs his alone time

3) he is very exciteable and never tires

4) he has a high emotional intelligence and not much gets past him.

At age 4...
- Sawyer weighs 40 pounds (not sure on height)
- wears 5T
- is trying to get rid of his nap - sad day!
- has a hard time falling asleep at night, but sleeps all night
- likes to play with legos, cars, trucks, and puzzles
- loves to ride his bike and scooter, but has been banned from the outdoors due to the mosquitos
- doesn't like to "go" to school but loves it when he's there
- prefers family day (weekends) where he can stay in his pjs, take long baths, and play with his toys
- can identify most of the letters and numbers
- can spell his name
- working on writing his name
- loves his brother (sometimes too much)
- likes to be around people and is very social
- does not know a stranger
- likes to be chased and wants everything to be  a game
