To sum it up....I am so thankful for the 12th day after Sawyer's tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, 2nd set of tubes and vocal cord scoping. When everyone said it was a 10 day recovery, I thought not my kid...it will be 5 days. NOT. We are talking fever off and on for 8 days, Pain medication every 3-4 hours for 10 days straight, 10 sleepless nights, anger and tears from pain. Anyway, that's enough....here are some photos during this process!
On the way to his surgery
Aunt Carrie helping with pre-op
Happy playing pre-op b/c there were toys!
Struggling to wake up from anesthesia b/c of all the meds.
Sweet friends Charlie and Ashley sent balloons. best.gift.ever.
This might have been day 5 of wearing pajamas. There were many battles we did not fight during this time!
When he slowly started feeling better, of course he picked his nice polo button up to wear.
Finally, my boy is back. Tyler is so happy to have him back too. He is such a help with little bubba!
To celebrate day 12, we went to Chuck E Cheese for one of his bestie's b-days.
Here he is with Reece the birthday boy. He told me he couldn't smile b/c he was driving.
Tyler remained the perfect baby through this and was all smiles.
However, we can't take our eyes off him any longer, as his favorite place to crawl is into the fireplace.
We are so happy that our wild, funny, smart BOY is feeling so much better. We are thankful this was temporary and hope that it makes him such a healthier little boy. This experience definitely gave me the slightest insight into what parents go through that have really sick children all of the time. It was exhausting and I don't know how they do it!
Lastly, I could NOT have done this without my mom. She was here for the first 6 days, including the week before when he was sick. She got up at night with me, cooked, hugged, snuggled and especially nursed us all! Thank you GiGi. And, thank you to Mimi who also came down and helped for a couple of days. It was hard work on both of them, and I appreciated all the help!
