On the Road

I hated taking such a long blog break, but am happy to say that we are no longer on the road. I am not going to lie and say this was an easy haul, b/c it was far from it.  While, we are in our new home in Sugar Land, half of our personal belongings (couches, towels, sheets, clothes, dining table, living room tables, plus much more) still remain in some storage unit in Colorado.  The moving company showed up with a truck already half full of someone else's stuff.  So, we fit what we could in the truck and now we wait....

In the mean time, Sawyer was quite a trooper on the long drive. How did people ever take toddlers on road trips without tv?!? Seriously! The movers also managed to lose a piece of Sawyer's crib- the one piece of furniture that I deem necessary!  However, I must give a shout out to Pottery Barn Kids. I called them, told them my sob story, and within 4 days, they sent me a brand new crib at NO CHARGE! Amazing!

Anyway, here are some pics from the drive to Texas.  Aunt Carrie, Pete, and GiGi took Sawyer ahead while we managed the move in Colorado.  He had a blast in Albuquerque for 3 days, but we were so happy to be back together as a family.  And, I think Carrie was ready for a quiet house! :)

We got to eat at Uncle Jr.'s restaurant and will post more pics later from the Abq adventure.

Our next stop was El Paso to see the Magris.  Sawyer remembered Nati and John, and made himself at home.

The key to long road trips with a toddler is lots of exercise when you can! We wore him out at every stop.

Sawyer loved the extra attention Nati gave him!

The last stop was Camp Comfort where we met Mamaw for lunch.

 Played in the kiddie pool...

 rode the tree swing...

and climbed on the hammock.

We also went to visit Sawyer's cousins in East Texas before getting settled in Sugar Land.  I didn't take any pics, but see Lindsay's blog for cute pics.  It was so fun to have all the nuggets together! Besides Sawyer needing to learn how to share, he had SUCH a fun time!

  1. Great pics Kayla! What an adventure! I love the setup y'all rigged on the swing : ). I love Sawyer so unbelievably much and am so grateful for the time I was able to spend with him! Can't wait to be with y'all in August.
